Notes

> Things We Do For Love was the first new non-family play written by Alan Ayckbourn to be produced at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
> It is one of his rare instances of a play written specifically to be performed in the end-stage (and impossible to present in-the-round). It was written specifically to take advantage of The McCarthy space at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in order to emphasise the playwright did not want it to be viewed as a secondary or studio space.
> The role of Nikki was originally performed by Sally Giles, however when she became pregnant, the actress Teresa Gallagher took over the role.
>
Things We Do For Love has the single longest contiguous run of any play presented at the Stephen Joseph Theatre since 1955 and had more than 100 performances at the theatre.
